Well, that stirs things up a bit. Honestly I don't know anything about the woman, besides the clip from CNN today. But a woman that likes to run, fish and eat moose burgers and cleans house of dirty politics? Watch out Washington this one might give you a run for your money.
Just a little afternoon research, I started at Wikipedia (where else right)?
Here is an excerpt from her family life blurb
"The two eloped shortly after Palin graduated from college; when they learned they needed witnesses for the civil ceremony, they recruited two residents from the old-age home down the street."
I love it! This woman has got some character, I can't say for sure, but I think I might...almost...be proud to admit I am a registered republican again (ah, yes gasp.... I know its a shock since you all think because I use cloth diapers and wear brown linen I must be a democrat).
At least it will be an interesting election year.

How do you like that? I never saw it coming. Somehow I had it stuck in my head that Romney was still in the running, but maybe he's too conservative a conservative. Palin seems to be more down the middle.
And just for the record, I'm almost positive they don't revoke your temple reccommend for voting Democrat! LOL ;)
I don't really claim any party, but I REALLY don't claim Republican. However, this choice has confused me a bit more than I already was. I think I might like her! BUt then I remember how much I hate the Republican stance on education, health care, energy, the environment, funding for public programs (like county health offices and federal parks) and I shudder to think we might face another 8 years padding the pockets of the wealthy. Ok, I'm stepping off my soapbox. Goodbye.
Wow Brenna, I never knew LOL!
I agree. We need energy reform, small businesses owners need affordable health care, kids need a good education. But I hate Obama's stance of "the government should fix everything". Health care, education and so many other things need a major overhaul but I shutter to think what would happen if the federal govt controlled these programs. My thought is whatever the govt get overly involved in becomes a bureaucratic mess and nothing gets done (farm/agriculture policy cough* cough*). I keep thinking out of how millions of Americans and these are the final two, are you kidding me?
Not only am I laughing at your post *which by the way I was pretty surprised myself, pleasantly though* I'm laughing at Jenny's & Your replies to the post. Great things... You're ok in my book girl!
Jared and Em,
Thought you guys might enjoy this. I saw a TV debate between representatives from the Reps and Dems. Funny that the Dems are claiming that Sarah Pailin doesn't have enough experience to be President (sounds like it's not just me that thinks McCain may die of old age in the next 4 years). Anyway, she was inaugurated Gov. of Alaska on Dec 4, 2006. Barack Obama was sworn in on Jan 4, 2005. Funny that those extra 11 months make his experience so much more extensive than hers!!
On the other hand (to be fair), the Reps have been playing the inexperience card on Obama. At this point, can't both sides just let it go? I'm so sick of politics!
I feel like he just picked her because she was a woman and that is suppose to mean something to me just because I share her gender. I think so many people vote based on an emotional response or a false sense that they relate to the candidate. It's all smoke and mirrors and no matter who is elected very little will change for most Americans. Not that I am cynical or anything.
BTW--as a Federal bureaucrat, I totally agree. Gov't has no idea how to make anything efficiently.
