Actually there is, and its stuck there for a couple of days...
First off everyone is fine, except my precious car ( I know its an old fogie car, but dang those buicks come fully loaded).
Story goes...Jared typically drives the achivea to work. Yes the same one I have had since high school. Just now the tires are bald, it has no air conditioning (which is a must down here), the windows don't roll down and a few weeks ago our heater core broke, so instead of fixing it we just looped the coolant back into the engine block. The positive side of that was we didn't have to shuck out hundreds of dollars for a new heater core, the negative side is we have no defrost/defog. So pretty much on the morning commute you drive with your wipers on and have to continually towel down the inside of your windshield. A small price to pay for not having a car payment.
Friday morning got a little chilly here and we actually had to scrape a light frost off our car windows. Jared was running late and asked if he could drive the good car and I said sure.
Friday afternoon he was heading home from work and was stopped at a stop light. A guy in a cadillac escalade thought he was going to make a right hand turn and smacked into the back of him. The insurance company we were dealing with isn't open on the weekend (bad sign #1) so the car is just chillin in our drive way. And I am sure our HOA is probably freaking out about it.
My question still is, how can you do that much damage at a stop light? Jared said he looked in his rear view mirror just in time to see a large grill. Plus car seats can only be in one accident so we have to get a new car seat this week. However, Jared is fine, he was sore the first day, but nothing to worry about.
anyway wish us the best of luck~

Jupmn Jungle
Erin attend a birthday party at this place called jumpin jungle. Its pretty much a bunch of blow up slides and jump rings inside and she had a blast. All right Jared and I did also, the parents could play as much as we wanted :)
Its amazing how parties have changed. We were all laughing about growing up it was a huge deal to have a few friends over for a slumber party and it was really a treat if mom and dad ordered some pizzas from the local pub. We have been to several parties where parents drop $200-300 dollars to rent a place for a toddler. Not my cup of tea, but the kids love it.

An Inconvenient Truth (Em's Rant)
Last night we rented "An Inconvenient Truth" with some friends. One friend is finishing his masters in political science and is an avid Democrat and the other who is a staunch Republican, plus two of us that keep up with environmental issues, and the rest NASA engineers that have a good understanding about the earth's atmosphere. On that note it made the movie entertaining from the living room side. However, I was not amused by Gore and his political antics. Of course I am not a big Gore fan to begin with ( I know all gasp, the tree hugging, prairie burning, composting environmentalist that you all consider me is not a Big G supporter).
I completely agree that there is a problem with emissions and on some level its tied to global warming. The data does not lie, the climate is shifting (hard to convince people in Iowa GW is happening when its -10 below, but ask them in August when it 95 and a drought), the ice caps are melting and weather patterns are becoming more violent. I firmly believe that we need to reassess our energy usage on an individual basis and use our consumer pull to change energy and emission standards. We see these problems and say the government needs to get their act together, but it comes down to us. Its a car pool a few days a week, spending a couple extra dollars and buying a high-efficiency appliance. It comes down to a cost factor, Americans in general are not willing to pay a premium for the environment. What so many don't understand is if we don't put the time and effort in to help provide a change now, we pay the price for it through other mediums.
There were very few graphics on the documentary with hard data attached. Gore would make a comment that US emissions standards for our cars are well below Chinas (which is true), but by how much? Or he would show a photo of a glacier 10 years ago and then the same glacier today. But were the photos taken the same time of year, what was the weather pattern for that specific year? Part of the reason is there is not enough historical scientific climate data to really know how much humans are affecting the current climate change. The million dollar question is how much is human activity affecting the weather patterns and how much is part of the natural cycle?
I was all ready to sit down and see a good documentary on global warming and part of the documentary was on Gore's life and had nothing to do with the subject. Maybe I was disappointed because I have a bit of an ecology/natural systems background and I was looking for something solid, and I found political propaganda without resolve. I imagine that the intention was to provide a shock factor for the public which I hope it did, because our thinking as a society needs to change, but I found it blah and fluffy.

Bubbles
Erin had her cardiology check up last Monday and everything looks good. She made it through a 45 minute echo without sedation, which I consider a huge success considering her age. We got a new cardiologist and I really like her, she actually did my fetal echos with Erin. Erin developed a light case of asthma this fall, we were not shocked considering we live in Houston and the air quality isn't great, but it is actually tied to her heart. Nothing to be concerned about, it has yet to slow her down. We just call her wheezy now.
Last night we had some friends over to watch the big game and Erin and her friend decided to take a deep purple marker to our good couch. All I can say is thank goodness for microfiber, a little windex and it all came out....and my couches have never been cleaner! I love how kids behave indivudally but when they get in a group all the rules get thrown out the window. Now we are all even, a few months ago when we were at their house the group of little girls took a red stamp pad and decided to paint their upstairs hallway with it.
Today we finally have a break from the rain. Its about 70 degrees out and Erin was all about the bubbles. Ugh, and I am off to make prints at kinkos...where all the idiots reside.
Cheers!
